ePortfolio
An attempt to try and make a record of your training. Should be seen as a defence of your practice, not another evil spawn of the internet.
ePortfolio at a Glance
1) Entries have to be made regularly, cramming is frowned upon.
2) Approximately two entries per week
i)Entries are mostly clinical encounters, but can be reading you have done, meetings, presentations. Anything you have done that indicates learning.
ii) Attempt to input encounters to which multiple tags can be applied
3) Demonstrate reading you have done
i) A suggestion would be to complete learning modules on doctors.net.uk, as these provide certificates which can be uploaded as evidence.
4) Personal Development Plans (PDP)
i) This is a more substantial piece of reading or work you have done. One entry a month needs to be entered. You need to state what your goal is at the beginning of the month, then complete at the end of month.
These can be literature reviews, presentation, audits etc.
5) Keep an eye on the Review Preparation tab, this will guide you as to what entries needing entering
6) Skills log - some are mandatory , look out for opportunities to do these.
7) DOPS/CBDs/miniCex(= COTS), roughly 3 of each for each six month block.
8) The bit that really matters, is your CSR = Clinical Supervisors Report - 1 for each six month block
9) The ARCP = Annual Review Clinical Progress. These people meet, and if you dont fill out your ePortfolio or there are concerns you get an 'invitation'. Not desirable.
