What is a Blood Group Test?
This test determines your blood type by identifying specific antigens on your red blood cells. Knowing your blood group is important for:

The Four Main Blood Groups
Your blood type is determined by the A and B antigens in your blood:
- Group A – A antigens with anti-B antibodies in the plasma.
- Group B – B antigens with anti-A antibodies in the plasma.
- Group AB – Both A and B antigens, no anti-A or anti-B antibodies (universal plasma recipient).
- Group O – No A or B antigens, but both anti-A and anti-B antibodies (universal red cell donor).
Additionally, the Rh Factor (positive or negative) further defines your blood type, such as A+ or O-.
